7:45 AM: Boker Tov
Time to rise and shine for a great day ahead!

8:15 AM: Shacharit (Community)
We’ll come together to start the day with a morning prayer service.

9:00 AM: Aruchat Boker | Breakfast
Fuel up with a meal and chat with friends as we prepare to take on the day.

10:00 AM: Kavanah
We’ll come together as a community to frame the day, including an overview of daily topics or themes, announcements, and information.

10:15 AM: Limmud Session 1
Limmudim are the heart of the Kallah curriculum where teens learn with educators on engaging Jewish subjects and are given the choice of topics they want to explore.

11:15 AM: Snack Break
Grab a bite and some swag from the canteen.

11:30 AM: Limmud Session 2
Another opportunity to explore a concept or issue of your choice.

12:30 PM: Cabin Cleaning
Enjoy some quick bonding time as we ensure our spaces are neat and safe.

1:15 PM: Aruchat Tzohorayim | Lunch
Head back to the dining hall for your midday fuel up—grilled cheese and tomato soup is especially a favorite! We also always have a salad bar, and the fixings for sun nut butter and jelly sandwiched for anyone who prefers.

2:00 PM: Chug or Sivuv
Meet with your self-selected club for some camp activities—swimming, song writing, mural painting, rock wall climbing, and more! Over the course of the program, you and your friends will create something to share with the whole Kallah community at the last night event.

3:00 PM: Beiteinu
This small, consistent community functions as your family group throughout the program. The spaces have a regular flow to provide space for processing, reflection, and laughs.

4:00 PM: Chofesh | Free Time
Take a break with your friends and chill in our hammocks, jam out with the camp instruments, or take a walk around our lush, green grounds.

6:30 PM: Mincha (Independent)
Those who would like to can join our Jewish educators for a midday prayer service.

7:00 PM: Aruchat Erev | Dinner
We eat, we sing, we laugh—dinner is always a good time at Kallah!

8:00 PM: Evening Program
When the sun sets at camp, the program at Kallah only shines brighter. At Kallah, evening programs are a playground of Jewish cultural experiences, deep conversations around campfires, and starlit song sessions.

9:30 PM: Rikkudim | Dance
Who doesn’t love a chance to move and groove to end off any amazing day?

9:45 PM: Ma'ariv
Those who would like to can join our Jewish educators for an evening prayer service.

10:15 PM: K'far Meetings
Alephs and BBGs head to their respective cabin areas and discuss any closing business of the day.

10:30 PM: Cabin Time
Finish the day with a bit of bunkmate bonding time.

10:45 PM: Laila Tov | Good Night
Sweet dreams! We’ll see you tomorrow for another great day at Kallah.

Is Kallah for you?
Kallah is a great program for Alephs and BBGs currently in 10th through 12th grade who want to explore and take ownership of their Judaism..

How many teens attend Kallah?
Kallah welcomes around 200 Alephs and B’nai B’rith Girls each summer. Participants come from every region and countries from across the Order.

Who staffs Kallah?
The International Kallah staff includes a site director, program director, song leaders, Israeli counselors (sh'lichim), expert specialists, college-age counselors from around the world (madrichim), and an office manager. In addition, we have over 10 Jewish educators onsite representing a variety of denominations and viewpoints, including rabbis and trained educators.

What is the Kallah curriculum about?
The Kallah curriculum allows participants to learn about and connect with Judaism in their own way. With a diverse community of Jewish educators, guest experts, and peers, participants explore ancient and current topics and ask and answer some of Judaism’s big questions.

Is the food at Kallah kosher?
Perlman Camp utilizes certified kosher ingredients, and prepares in accordance with kosher practices. There is no ongoing rabbinical supervision in the kitchen.

What do I do about medication?
For the safety of our teens, all medications—prescription and over the counter—for camp-based summer programs must go through CampMeds. This includes any over-the-counter medication, including supplements or vitamins. Medications used in emergency situations, like an epi pen or inhaler, as well as oral contraceptives can be brought to camp and do not need to be filled through CampMeds. CampMeds medications must be filled no later than 30 days before the start of a program. BBYO staff are unable to distribute medication that a participant brings with them. Failure to accurately fill prescriptions through CampMeds will result in a $250 fee and medication brought will not be distributed. Failure to comply with the policy may result in a removal from the camp program.

How do I get to Kallah?
Teens can either be dropped off directly at camp by a parent or guardian, or they can fly into the local airport, Newark Liberty International Airport, Newark, NJ (EWR), where they'll be met by BBYO staff and taken to their program by bus.

Do you offer travel insurance?
BBYO is glad to offer a travel insurance option for all our Summer Experiences through Travel Insured International. Families are highly encouraged to purchase travel insurance to protect their investment and plan for the unexpected. Please visit this page to see all the details on the policy and its terms.

What does wellness look like at Kallah?
Kallah has a full-time licensed mental health professional and a nurse on site. Additionally, all BBYO staff are youth mental health first aid certified.

Is there scholarship for Kallah?
Yes! Several different scholarship options are available:

• BBYO Need-Based Scholarship: Apply as part of your registration. Applications are due by January 8, 2025, and awards will be announced on January 16, 2025. Applications received after this date will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
• Anita M. Perlman Scholarship (for BBGs): In honor of the legacy of the founder of BBG, visionary feminist Anita M. Perlman, an award up to $500 in additional scholarship for a BBG to attend International Kallah to enhance their leadership and identity. Funds are limited—applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and awarded based on greatest need via the scholarship application.
